At about 5,400 feet, Paradise is one of Mount Rainier National Park’s main visitor areas. The Henry M. Jackson Memorial Visitor Center has exhibits, a park film, an information desk, and seasonal food and retail services. Hours change through the year, so check the official Paradise visitor guide before you go.

On clear days, the mountain rises above subalpine meadows. In summer, flowers add color to the slopes, while snow can cover trails well into other seasons. Stay on marked trails to protect the fragile meadows, and follow current NPS guidance when choosing a route.

For a longer hike, explore the Skyline Trail. The nearby route to Myrtle Falls is another popular option, though its conditions and accessibility depend on the season. For a lower-elevation stop on the way, see Longmire.

Paradise is reached from the southwest side of the park via Nisqually and Longmire. Road access, parking, facilities, and trails can change with weather, snow, construction, or other closures. Check the current road status and trail conditions for the day you plan to visit.
