Good to Know Before You Stay

Find helpful answers about our cabins, booking your stay, and planning a visit to Mount Rainier, Ashford, and Packwood.

We have three unique Mount Rainier stays:

Ridgeline Retreat | Ashford — Sleeps up to 6 and is perfect for families and groups, with a private hot tub, barrel sauna, fenced yard, and plenty of room to unwind.

Elkai Studio | Packwood — Sleeps up to 4 and offers a cozy, intimate retreat with an indoor cedar sauna and beautiful Mount Rainier views.

Elkai Lodge | Packwood — Sleeps up to 8 and offers more space for families and groups. Traveling with a bigger crew? Elkai Lodge and Elkai Studio are located on the same property and can be booked together for up to 12 guests, giving your group plenty of space while still allowing for a little privacy.

Ridgeline Retreat | Ashford — Private hot tub + outdoor barrel sauna.

Elkai Studio | Packwood — Private indoor cedar sauna. No hot tub.

Elkai Lodge | Packwood — Private hot tub. No sauna. 

Yes! We love hosting families. Our properties include thoughtful kid-friendly touches like Pack ’n Plays, toys, hanging high chairs, and children’s dinnerware to make traveling with little ones a little easier.

No. We love furry friends, but our properties are strictly pet-free.

Yes. All properties have Wi-Fi, so you can stay connected, stream, or sneak in a little remote work between adventures.

Yes. Our properties have mini-split heating and cooling to keep things comfortable throughout the seasons

At Ridgeline Retreat, the outdoor amenities are private to your group. At Elkai Studio, the studio and its amenities are private, while portions of the larger property may be shared with the neighboring Elkai Lodge

Ridgeline Retreat | Ashford — Approximately 7 minutes from the Nisqually Entrance, with convenient access to Longmire and Paradise.

Elkai Studio | Packwood — Approximately 20 minutes from the Stevens Canyon Entrance, with convenient access to Ohanapecosh and the east side of Mount Rainier National Park.

Elkai Lodge | Packwood — Approximately 20 minutes from the Stevens Canyon Entrance. Located on the same property as Elkai Studio, it offers the same convenient access to Ohanapecosh and the east side of the park.

Ridgeline Retreat | Ashford  A great home base for exploring Longmire, Paradise, and the Nisqually side of Mount Rainier.

Elkai Studio + Elkai Lodge | Packwood Ideal for exploring Stevens Canyon, Ohanapecosh, Sunrise when seasonal roads are open, and the east side of the park. Packwood is also convenient for White Pass and makes a great base for year-round mountain adventures.

Absolutely! Winter is a beautiful time to visit. Some park roads and entrances close seasonally, and mountain conditions can change quickly, so always check current road and weather conditions before heading out.

Yes, but keep in mind that Ashford and Packwood are small mountain communities.

Ridgeline Retreat | Ashford — Dining and grocery options are limited, so we recommend stocking up before arrival.

Elkai Studio + Elkai Lodge | Packwood — Packwood has a grocery store along with several restaurants, coffee shops, and casual dining options.

We also send our guests a curated list of local favorites before their stay.

There’s plenty to enjoy without entering the park. Depending on the season, you can hike, snowshoe, ski or snowboard at White Pass, explore nearby lakes and rivers, visit local coffee shops and restaurants, or simply slow down and enjoy your cabin’s hot tub, sauna, fire pit, and mountain surroundings.

Booking directly means you're booking straight with us no middleman and you'll have access to our best available direct rates and occasional offers available only to Nested Hospitality guests.

Check-in is at 4:00 PM for all properties. Checkout is at 11:00 AM for Ridgeline Retreat and Elkai Studio, and 10:00 AM for Elkai Lodge. When our cleaning schedule allows, we may be able to offer an earlier check-in for an additional fee.

Early check-in may occasionally be available depending on our cleaning schedule. Because our team needs enough time to thoroughly prepare the property for arriving guests, late checkout is generally not available.

Detailed arrival information, directions, and access instructions are sent to confirmed guests shortly before their stay. For the privacy and security of our properties and guests, we don't publicly share exact addresses.

Cancellation terms vary depending on the property, booking channel, and rate selected. Your applicable cancellation policy will always be displayed before you complete your reservation.

Minimum stays vary depending on the season, holidays, and availability. Your available dates will automatically show the applicable minimum stay.

Yes! Elkai Lodge and Elkai Studio can be booked together for groups of up to 12 guests. Both are located on the same Packwood property, making them a great option for extended families, multiple couples, or groups who want to stay together while still having separate spaces. Contact us for availability and help coordinating both reservations.

Mountain weather and park conditions are outside our control. We strongly recommend checking road and park conditions before traveling and purchasing travel insurance if you're concerned about unexpected disruptions.
