Silver Falls

Silver Falls

Silver Falls tumbles through a forested gorge on the Ohanapecosh River in the southeast part of Mount Rainier National Park. The park’s usual campground approach is affected by construction, so check the access details before you drive.

Current access note (October 2026): NPS construction updates list the Ohanapecosh developed area and campground trailhead as closed. The park lists access to Silver Falls from the Grove of the Patriarchs parking area via Eastside Trail, as well as an alternate trailhead along Stevens Canyon Road when the road is open. The connection through Ohanapecosh is closed, so the route cannot be hiked as a loop; plan for out-and-back sections only. Winter road closures may further change access.

Read the official Silver Falls trail guide, park construction notices, and current conditions on the day of your trip.
